Re: Banned for using mirc exploit

Id just like to add that testing out exploits on people on irc is a valid reason for getting a kline or gline. Unless it's done by an oper, of course. If you find an oper doing this, and it was done to someone without consent of the individual doing it, contact that opers admin. Opers are not allow...

Re: Banned for using mirc exploit

Any idea how long I am banned from efnet for, for use of the mIRC exploit? I have no further intentions of using it again, and has been removed as of now. Id just like to add that testing out exploits on people on irc is a valid reason for getting a kline or gline. Using an exploit is just like loo...

since when was an oper to blame if a user got packeted? never, unless it was the oper doing the packeting of course. on the subject; userspoofing is the stupidest thing any network ever invented and would add to the "reasons-to-quit-being-on-EFnet-if-I-had-the-willpower-to-do-so"-list. people will ...

The whole idea is to create some kind of "registration" service to stop proxies, floodbots and drones from connecting to the network. Undernet still gets floodbots and drones, and im sure a large perentage of them are "spoofed". +eb *!*@*.efnet.users *!*@* that would keep most drones out of your ch...

auriga, i think the way some people are looking at is is not the fact they're spoiling movies, but the face they are joining (i'm guessing) dozens, or even hundreds of channels and pasting these 'spoilers'. movie spoiler or not, if i saw someone join/paste/part in several channels i was in, i would...

well its too late for a channel ban, after they've come and spoiled the movie.... cause they just go on to the next channel and the next and the next and spoil it for them. so i really see no probably with a temp kline... cause to me its like spam. and unless you make a sticky ban in a bot, or have...

Y'know, someone goes to see a new movie, and then, for some unknown reason, joins the channel and ruins it for everyone. The maturity level of this is astounding. Anyway, if you see someone doing it, /stats p their nick, find an active oper, and get them K:lined. Hrms.. i would find that more of an...

I wouldnt do spoofs via the current method - it doesnt scale. You can easily implement stuff that allows some form of 'services' to give a user a spoof. That way you could make most of it automatic - stuff like adding hosts etc. Youd have to implement a fair few guards into it, restricting how many...

Perhaps we need to start thinking in a different mindset. I just don't know what that is just yet. Theres nothing saying you have to require registration - you could just make it optional to get something.. (ie, a user spoof). You are right, but this still does not solve the problem of drones, and ...

If you believe this yourself, I call you naive. You're saying opers don't get jealous? Drunk? Pissed off? You're saying that there will be no abusive operspying ever? i've seen 2-3 operspys done in the past few months, and every time there were 2-3 other opers instantly saying "why does that look l...
