Servers that have the fewest hops, I find, have good response time, but that also means when they go down, for whatever it may be (peering issue, packet loss on my end, etc) I get disconnected instantly. Hello again, There's been some chat lately about adding features to IRCD code to allow for multiple server links, creating a mesh type network map. This could add greater stability to the network, if done correctly, and could help eliminate the perceived dependence on 'centralized superhubs'. More ...

While at it, it would probably be a nice thing to raise the number of modes (+b, e+, +I) a channel can have from 20 to something like 50. It wont use that much memory.
