Christmas is about spending quality time with your loved ones, not spending thousands of monies on stupid gifts.
Only christmas present i buy is for my parents, but it's mostly a "gift to the house" we'll all enjoy (whisky).

Unless it's done by an oper, of course.Auriga wrote: Id just like to add that testing out exploits on people on irc is a valid reason for getting a kline or gline.

It's always fun to play with new technology and it's a shame to let some few kiddies ruin the fun for everyone else (doesn't ircd-hybrid 7.x and ircd-ratbox support CIDR k/d-lines now?). As I'm one of the fortunate few who has IPv6 native from my isp both at work and home, more EFnet servers support...

Re: Do we need more ipv6 servers?
In the other way to look at things, I'm all for IPv6 servers, as long as 1) they don't use comstud IRCd (rofl) and 2) they can give the IP address in the /whois and /whowas results, as it's not easy/evident to get a DNS result from a resolved hostname, very useful for a well-deserved IP-range ban :...

since when was an oper to blame if a user got packeted? never, unless it was the oper doing the packeting of course. on the subject; userspoofing is the stupidest thing any network ever invented and would add to the "reasons-to-quit-being-on-EFnet-if-I-had-the-willpower-to-do-so"-list. people will ...

ircd.nac only has irc.nac behind it. which is even worse than having a whole bunch of servers behind a hub that doesn't forward operspy-notices, allowing one server to do what they please with the posibility to forward this to other abusive opers. (note: i'm talking 100% hypothetically, not about n...

Sorry, every server has been passing them for a while now. The XO and nac hubs dont pass them. Operspy notices require the "ENCAP" capability to propagate - neither of those two hubs support it. Ah, could've sworn that was fixed a few weeks ago. So, most of the time, there are only two servers that...

If it werent for people who disliked it, it could become a problem, but believe me.. As soon as someone abuses it, those folks who didnt want it in the first place will spalatter the shit up one side and the other of that oper, and make an example of them. Providing they see the operspy notice in t...

even though i don't mind them, i voted that we shouldn't have services at all. i have always like EFNet the way it is, and when i started on this network it never had services, i guess that's why i picked it. if it was to have other services you might as well merge with DALNet or some other network...
