And also, TCM and oomon query services.xo for the CLONES command. There is no easy way to do an equivalent in ircd, and TESTMASK can't really do it either, since you need to know the user@host you wish to test. CLONES # Lists all clients services.xo considers clones, where the number you send is the...

Well, TESTMASK is open source, services.xo is not. That's a plus there. It could be easily made to OPERSPY or be logged. That can be done with 1-3 lines of code. TESTMASK came about after I got bitched out on the EU EFnet mailing list about seconing a GLINE that some said was too broad. To devise a ...

TESTMASK is primarily something for opers to use. A bot probably doesn't need to use it.

Also, it appears TESTMASK is under a bunch of political bullshit, so it may end up going away (don't quote me on that)

Sentinel has no services.xo code, I have not seen services.xo's code and 99% likely never will. It was made to work with TCM/oomon (with /msg services@services.blah clones 4) and to provide a functional DRONES command. The functionality in DroneMon and current OOmon blows Sentinel's DRONES command a...

As a former oper, I can verify that yes, they do work, very well.

PS. I guarantee you will get FAR better results if you are polite when you ask, rather than using profane language and an insulting tone.

ftp.efnet.info active vs. passive

It appears that using PASSIVE mode FTP does not function with ftp.efnet.info. This of course can cause problems for people that cannot use ACTIVE mode FTP. Because of this, I'm unable to browse the FTP with Mozilla or download behind my firewall at home, unable to browse with Mozilla at work, and un...

I wasn't trying to imply that demon is shady or anything like that. I'm intrested in running hyb 7 +demon. The problem i have is the diff from bootbay doesn't patch hyb CURRENT or hyb STABLE correctly. I was wondering if there is any current version of the patch. I've messaged leeh and had no luck....

The demon patch is public, I have it archived on http://ircd.botbay.net/pub/hybrid/2-Patchsets/demon/ and the original (master) site is available as well.

As for policy, you'd have to ask a current oper/admin. I know +demon is permitted, so is Dianora's +angel patch and my /map patch for 6.x.

All IRC servers use a standard TCP connect() to send the identd request. There is no logical reason in the code to set the source port, and unlike in UDP, I don't think it would work. I believe you'll always have to deal with a source port for identd checks as ephemeral. If you want to firewall thin...

A service can't see the two "unused" USER parameters (used during registration) and can't see PRIVMSG/NOTICE's to channels unless it is in that channel. These are limitations of the s-s protocol that would prevent some of what you propose from being possible.

Full bt of the core.

If the core doesn't get dumped even with the unlimited -c ulimit, then you'll have to start it under gdb and core it.

It would also be good to take this off of the EFnet forums and on to the ircd-ratbox mailing list.
