I don't believe Bitchx reads variables like your shell does. Try putting what you have down there in your .profile

These are some possibilities:

ident too short
realname / gecos too short.

a mix and match of the combination of the above with a short nickname. try adjusting or setting the realname part first.

For example:
export IRCNAME="TKZ ABCD"

then fire up BitchX.

Heh. I bet other other network that was mentioned on the original would ban trolls that flood and troll in #help, but then again, the ops for that channel on that other network would just be doing their job, where as we are just being jerks. *waves to all the jerks.*

I do not or claim to know what happened or if this is true. Did you go ahead and ask the server administrator to verify this and what the reason was? If not, don't go screaming unfair.
