what server are you trying to connect to? and does it tell you why you are dlined?

the easiest solution is probably just to try using another server, as dlines are local to that specific server only.

ME TOO!!!!

Postby dj_pi » Fri Sep 19, 2003 11:47 pm

I haven't done anything and for some reason on almost all the EFNet servers I get banned for using a generic ident response. I don't even know what that is or what I did wrong. If anyone can help me out I'd greatly appreciate it.

a good place for you to start is by reading the help file(s) for your IRC client. If you are using mIRC, ident is found under file-->options-->Connect-->identd, and then check 'enable ident server' and change the entry in the box to something not as common (as the ban msg tells you to do). If you do that, that should fix your problem. Also, as Pills said, you could/should use irc.umich.edu, since you'll have a MUCH faster connection to it from Mich. State.
