Please Help me Help me Help me in Identd Problem…..
I am using EFnet since long time….. But form some time since I have now internet connection of Airtell India. I have to face lots of problems to join EFnet…. Like….
Connect retry #3 64.124.0.204 (6667)
————————————————————
[ 7:01pm ] -64.124.0.204- *** Processing connection to irc.blessed.net
————————————————————
[ 7:01pm ] -64.124.0.204- *** Looking up your hostname...
————————————————————
[ 7:01pm ] -64.124.0.204- *** Checking Ident
————————————————————
[ 7:01pm ] -64.124.0.204- *** Couldn't look up your hostname
————————————————————
[ 7:01pm ] -64.124.0.204- *** No Ident response
[ 7:01pm ] Closing Link: 127.0.0.1 (You are not authorised to use this server)
and at last I got connection in some server
But when I tried to get help form #EFnet………
[ 7:03pm ] You were kicked from #efnet by SentinelA (Banned: Open Proxy listed at xbl.spamhaus.org )
As You can see I got banned…..
I have downloaded the identd15 and tried to run it and then connect the server but the same error was flashed ….
I have tried to create an account with EFnet’s Website… But in that site my Email {Raghuraj_Nanda@yahoo.com} is banned……
I am a simple user of EFnet and I love to use it but this type of SHIT makes me so upset that they looks at me with suspicious eyes….. WHY?????
But I want to know why this happens again and again…..
I have never done anything which is illegal on net or I have never tried to damage EFnet… So this is the penalty of that….???? I feel my self so sad and miserable….
Pls help me in this problem……
Waiting for your reply……
My E-mail is Raghuraj.Nanda@gmail.com......

go to http://irchelp.org/irchelp/networks/connectprob.html
and scroll down and read about the No Identd and see if that helps.
and #efnet isn't a help channel.

some of your problems are that you're listed in CBL
http://cbl.abuseat.org/lookup.cgi?ip=203.145.159.44
since you were delisted and then relisted, obviously something was scanned or found as a problem. if you are running any sort of proxy/gateway firewall, double check the settings to make sure you aren't allowing unauthorized connections before re-requesting removal

Hi,
I'm having a similar problem. Up until yesterday my connecting to EFnet and any other servers was fine. Randomly, it stopped working.
Whenever I try to connect the first time, it simply gets stuck at
Connecting to irc.efnet.net (6667).
Then I try connecting and reconnecting, with a bit more luck:
-irc.efnet.net- *** Looking up your hostname...
————————————————————
-irc.efnet.net- *** Checking Ident
————————————————————
-irc.efnet.net- *** Found your hostname
Then it gets stuck again. Finally, I try to disconnect and reconnect again and it gets one step closer:
-irc.efnet.net- *** Looking up your hostname...
————————————————————
-irc.efnet.net- *** Checking Ident
————————————————————
-irc.efnet.net- *** Found your hostname
————————————————————
-irc.efnet.net- *** No Ident response
I've never had this problem before. This also happens if I try to connect to any server. I managed to get on one, but when I tried to join a channel nothing happened. I've been on EFnet for a long time now, I don't see how this could happen. Any suggestions?
My Windows Firewall is off. I am on a school connection. I have been successfully connecting for months now, I don't see why it would just stop working?
I have Ident enabled and I haven't changed any info since the first time I installed IRC. (My Ident info is NOT blank)
EDIT: Most times, I get up to the Found your host name part before it freezes.

if it's in the server's MOTD, you can check http://www.efnet.org/?module=servers
otherwise /stats P <irc> shows ports (if it is enabled for non-opers)
