Banned for no apparent reason

Got on to efnet this morning and i got the following

ERROR *** Banned: Temporary D-line 14400 min. - (v24/398) Drones are prohibited (2006/6/9 07.09)

I'm pretty sure I'm not a drone, considering i dont even know what a drone is.

try a different server, see if you get the same problem

/stats p the server you got dlined from and talk to an oper to figure out the cause

it's possible you just have a nick/ident/gecos pattern that matches a known set of drones, and a slight change to your info will keep you from getting banned.

if all else fails, try http://chat.efnet.org

Odd thing is that i use efnet pretty regularly and this has never happened before. But thanks for the advice.

Its possible your IP range is banned, check with the opers on that ircd.

Usually bans will expire, but again check.

/stats p <server> is your friend!
