Random K-line? What the heck??

So I was sitting on EFNet and what happens randomly?

You are banned from this server- Temporary K-line 1440 min. - Blacklisted Proxy found.

I wish I could whine about this, but I don't even know what it means. I've been on and off of EFNet for years, how am I suddently "blacklisted"?

Chances are you are using an internet service provider that provides a dynamic IP. At some point, usually recently, someone using the IP was found to have some known "hole" that can potentially exploited. Most of the time, you get a website URL to go to for more information or to submit a request for removal. Hopefully you have one of those and you are able to get yourself removed. Alternatively you can try reconnecting to your ISP until you find an address that's fine. There are also a lot of similiar posts like mine and yours on this forum already. You can try doing a search to see if there are some other options and ideas. Search for "blacklisted" in the search feature. Good luck!
