IPV6 Servers and Ping Timeouts

Postby redento » Mon Apr 07, 2008 6:28 pm

Hello dears!
I don't know for sure, but i've been experiencing a weird situation.
I setupped a little FreeBSD server, getting IPV6 to work on it. I loaded some eggdrops on it, nor a Psybnc.
Well, here comes the deal: it has been running for almost 5 days, withouth particular glitches. Since today, almost every ipv6 servers i tried are dropping bots for ping timeout, while it has never happened in these days. I suddenly thought it was a fault on my own, but another server i've access on, with ipv6 of course, is getting same drops. I did a tcl aswell, with a ipothetic timer to ping every 5 mins or so the server: nothing, they still drop after a while.

I tried almost every EFnet ipv6 servers enabled, but no way. Any ideas?

So, is it a fault on my own or there are being problems or routing issues? It's not a complain, that's for sure, just a question. :)

Thanks in advance, regards.

Sorry for my non-native english. :P

Hello,
I would say it's probably your tunnel broker (I assume you are using a tunnel broker, I could be wrong). Has it stopped occuring since you last pasted?

Well, that's the first thing i thought aswell. I mean, the tunnel broker fail. Indeed, the client logs brought up a problem within the connection, not on my side. Atleast it seemd so. But, right now, it seems to run up fine.
There's a weird behaviour coming up: i can connect successfully only on irc.efnet.nl, with ipv6 and my reverses. Among the other ipv6 servers, neither one seems to work properly. It goes on connecting status and hang there. I'm running oidentd daemon and no more services, apart noip and this tunnel broker client.

So, i can't neither say if it is indeed a client problem or it is an issue on my side. But, the fact i can't connect to those iPV6 servers remains, and that juts 1 work is also stranger. I also fear the timeouts will appear again. This is sounding dumb or not really smart, but meh. :)

Thanks!
