"Banned Please don't IRC from hacked mailservers"

I happen to run my own mail server and my reverse dns lookup will resolve to my mailserver's hostmask. I use irssi from a linux box that is separate from my mail server.

When attempting to connect to efnet I receive the following in my irssi status log:

How can I resolve this problem?

many servers kline mail.* and smtp.* as the majority of connections that come from these hosts are hacked bots.

to get around it, either use a server that does not have this ban in place, or change your reverse dns
