Open Proxy

I sporadically get banned with the following:
Banned Temporary K-line 1440 min. - Open Proxy found on your IP x.x.x.x. Please check your system and fix it.

It's quite sporadic, never at connect time. I run a private IRC server on a different network on the same IP, I assume that is what it is complaining about. How can I avoid these erroneous bans?

ie - what is your IP, and what is the server scanning your IP as an open proxy

Connected to irc.igs.ca and irc.choopa.ca of late as far as I can remember.
I don't know which server is actually doing the scan and triggering the ban though.

both igs and choopa proxy scans get listed in efnetrbl, and i don't see that ip listed anywhere in our logs or database.

are there multiple users on this IP?

It just happened again, about 2 hours after connecting:

it looks like dksBOPM is to blame

most likely a misconfigured target_string finding your ircd

i've sent contact information to the administrators of dks and the contacts i have for their bopm, but no response of yet.

if you have the ip of the scanner, i would just filter it on your firewall for now. it should at least keep them from misidentifying you.
