Banned for trying to join #EFNetNews

Hello,

I'm an EFnet newbie. I was trying various channels, to find which ones interest me.
At some point, I joined #EFNetNews. Immediately, I received:

#EFNetNews :Illegal channel name
You are banned from this server- Temporary K-line 14400 min. - Trying to join resv'd channel #EFNetNews (2017/8/13 14.06)
Closing Link: <MY_IP> (Connection closed)

I can PM you my IP if needed.

Is this normal? Can someone remove the 10 day ban? I wasn't trying to do anything bad.

Unable to determine why you were banned. That channel's ops may be able to assist you.

I suspect it has more to do if certain EFnet server opers hate that channel, than anything to do with the chanops.
