SSL Servers

Postby Hardy » Mon Sep 01, 2008 6:15 pm

To make it easier to remember servers with SSL enabled on EFnet, we have set up a round robin. The round robin is 'ssl.efnet.org' and currently lists the three servers we have with SSL support.

Is it safe to assume all current ssl-enabled EFnet servers have at minimum tcp/9999 open for SSL connections.. and possibly even future EFnet servers?

It would be nice if EFnet server admins could agree upon a standard set of ports for both SSL and non SSL connections.

SSL is now enabled on irc.vel.net on ports 6697, 7000, 7001, 9999

For any mIRC users, it's really easy. See instructions at: http://www.mirc.com/ssl.html
