The US portion of EFnet have approved irc.mzima.net, located in Los Angeles, California to a 45 days trial link. The server is hosted by Mzima Networks and will be a new completly open server.

I recommend adding "welcome <new server> to trial link."

Thank you guys for the worm welcome :D

And HM2K, if you really want a UK server that bad you should start contacting isp`s asking if they could be intrested in trying. Thats the way several efnet servers have "been found" and some of them are here still today. Good luck tho 8)

Hardy, yeah I was thinking about doing that, haven't yet got around to doing it, or even know how to go about doing it, ie: how to approach them, and what to say... I'll try it out sometime ;)

how long till permanently linked? irc.mzima.net kicks major ass....the best efnet server for me.....more reliable.

iirc, trial links are 45 days
but i could be wrong

45 days is correct. They'd become permanent the second weekend in April. To this point, I've seen no reason not to give them a perm link.
