irc.servercentral.net renames to irc.scnet.net

Postby Hardy » Tue Jun 08, 2004 8:09 pm

The Chicago client server, irc.servercentral.net is currently down due to a hardware failure. It is planned to replace the machine a bit later today and relink it back with the new and shorter name irc.scnet.net

As a sidenote, seiki informs that the machine still "features monster cables, neon 'ice' CPU fans, and 7 blinking neon tubes". They have also added a 'don't hump the server' sticker to discourage any despondant noc monkeys :)

Heh, let me change my sig then...

At least they didn't have to put a "don't spill drinks on me" sticker on it. ;)

Actually, it's in a fairly secure place. :p

I was referring to a certain British server's penchant for getting various liquids spilled on it.

Shorter i guess, more easy to remember. When we applied with it i didnt like the old name much, because i felt it was to long for a new server, but now that i got used to it i sort of miss it also :)

Out of interest, are there plans to change ircd.servercentral.net's name also?
