Just thought I'd let you all know about something we found earlier today:
http://www.irc-chat-logs.com/ has a couple of bots on efnet. I've seen 2, but there may be more:
16:49:39 -!- jJones [jJones@ip-68-178-242-38.ip.secureserver.net]

kitchen@cold ~ $ dnsip irc-chat-logs.com
68.178.242.38
kitchen@cold ~ $ dnsip ip-68-178-242-38.ip.secureserver.net
68.178.242.38
The bots and the site are on the same IP and the bots are in many of the channels listed on the site, so I just kinda put 2 and 2 together.
A ban on *!*@68.178.242.* should take care of it, if you don't want it in your channel.
Please note that I don't particularly have anything wrong with logging an IRC channel, so long as the operators of the channel have given permission to do so. We received no such request, and granted no such permission.
Thanks

not the first time websites like this have popped up, logging chats without notifying channel ops or users.

whois data problem report
ahh.. invalid whois data used for domain registration. There is a good way to combat that. Anyone may file a whois data problem report at InternNIC. This form allows Internet users to submit reports to ICANN-Accredited Registrars concerning incomplete or inaccurate Whois data.

There is absolutly nothing wrong with people logging channels and loading it to a stats page all it does is show activity in the channel. its just for ammusment anyway... but yea if you dont like it im sure you can find out whats a bot and whats not and just ban it anyway. irc stats hurts nobody and im sure if you really thought of it you would relize its not a problem.
