[rant?!?] Actually getting banned from EFNet

Can one get banned from EFNet annoying 0ps in #EFNet?!? This seems rather unfair (to me), even if I deserved to be banned, I could see getting banned for DDOS attacks or hacking the network, not this. Sad, really. I sense someone's abusing their power, too many goofs spoiling the broth I guess.

Here's what I get when trying to connect: -efnet.xs4all.nl- *** Banned flooding (2006/10/2 21.17) -=- But I didn't flood, though.

Well someone didn't like me, appears I'm still banned. This is the first time it's happened in over 8 years actually.

I keep trying all the servers, I either get Banned (Flooding), D-Lined or G-Lined. Guess you can ban an IP on all the EFNet's. I dunno if I want to re-connect and deal with a buncha 14 year olds, though, but it's the principle of it so that would be funny if I got un-banned.

Interesting, thanks to who got me back on EFNet, apparently I've been un-banned (I think), now I'm able to re-connect to an EFNet server.

Have you checked your client of viruses and maybe insufficient scripts running in your irc-client?

Naaa... honestly, I was banned cause certain people didn't want me on EFNet. I haven't done anything different in 8 years, and I'm always scanning for nasties. I doubt I'm running scripts.

I'm guessing your nickname isn't .*3846.* on EFnet.. Perhaps if you divulged your nickname pubic ally, it could be discussed who and why you were banned on several servers. But to answer your question about being banned for annoying ops in #efnet sure..
Alot of server admins hang out in #efnet If you piss off several of them, they are completely within their rights to ban you from their server. I highly doubt you were banned from every EFnet server though.... maybe next time try more servers..

Take a look at the date of the post. There were some database issues, where a bunch of accounts got erased, but the posts didn't... so just the poster number remained.
