What OS?

Postby emmi » Sun Apr 03, 2005 12:16 pm

Hello, I'm interested to know what OS is the most popular with server admins to use for their ircd. I guess most of you guys are using FreeBSD but are there anyone using Linux, for example Fedora Core?

yes, most are freebsd, or some form of *bsd. there are a couple of linux, but not fedora. there have been some sunos/solaris in the past, not sure if anyone still uses it.

servercentral uses a stripped down windows95 installation for both the client server and the hub. works great!

of course, the windows 95 is running in virtualPC on an a mac mini because jordan wouldn't give us the rackspace for my full tower pentium pro.
