EFnet Commands

Postby Uncle J » Mon Apr 18, 2005 1:55 am

I recently joined EFnet since one of my favorite channels moved here. Currently, I'm used to the Shadowfire commands which involve Chanserv and Nickserv.

Because of the difference between the two servers none of my old scripts work on EFnet. Can anyone hook me up with a list of commands?

There is no Chanserv or Nickserv on EFNet, and no other kinds of services either, so there are no special commands for those. As far as I know (I haven't used other networks very much) EFNet just uses the basic commannds like /join, /part, /msg, /notice, /motd, etc.
I think that stats commands do vary by network, so maybe you should be familiar with /stats p (server). Typing only "/stats p" will give you a list of opers on the server you are on and their idle time in seconds, while typing "/stats p irc.server.name" will give you the list from another server.
Since EFNet does not have channel services, a different system was introduced called Chanfix. You can get information about Chanfix at http://www.irchelp.org/chanfix . There are, however, no special commands to be used for Chanfix, as it is automatic.

it is also a good idea to familiarize yourself with usermodes and channelmodes, which may differ from other networks:
